By nominating a student for recognition, the student becomes a finalist to compete for a scholarship in the nominated discipline. Awards and Scholarships
There will be no prior notification nor announcement of scholarship winners before the Shooting Stars Gala on Sunday, March 28, 2010.
Student/Finalist Scholarships – scholarship monies for each category are being raised with private and public contributions.
- Providing the finalists meet the Nominating and Judging Criteria, one (1) scholarship per scholarship category may be awarded.
- The scholarship in each category may be awarded in an amount of not less than $1,000, providing the candidate meets the Nominating Guidelines and Criteria as well as Judging Criteria.
- Scholarship funds can only be used for enrollment fees.
- The Arts Council of Johnson County reserves the right to:
- Withhold scholarships in a category that has three or fewer candidates.
- Withhold scholarships in any category based upon the Judge’s decision that the submitted candidates did not meet the Judging Criteria.
- Maintain that judge’s decisions are final.
Scholarship monies awarded will be held in escrow until respective student award winners provide written verification of enrollment in accredited colleges, universities or certified arts schools. Funds will be paid directly to the schools.
