	Part 2 - Judging for Scholarships and Awards
	EARLY DATE! — Saturday, December 13 – Auditions for Performing Art Categories Theatre/Performance (including voice), Theatre/Technical, Strings, Voice (classical) and Winds & Percussion. Time: auditions will run between 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and are scheduled every 15 minutes. Location: Carlsen Center – JCCC Address: 12345 College Blvd. Individual Photos of Performing Arts Finalists Friday, January 30, 2009 Submission of images by Finalists in Photography, Three-Dimensional and Two-Dimensional. Time: 4 - 6 p.m. Location: Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art IMPORTANT: Please carefully read the guidelines and events related to the three visual art categories. Individual Photos of Finalists Friday, January 30, 2009 Submission of creative works by Finalists in Literature. Time: 4 - 6 p.m. Location: Carlsen Center – JCCC Address: Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art or works can be emailed to artsjoco@sbcglobal.net Note email subject as: Shooting Stars Literature. By nominating a student for recognition, the student becomes a finalist to compete for a scholarship in the nominated discipline. 	Awards
	No prior notification nor announcement of scholarship winners before the Shooting Star Gala on Sunday, March 29, 2009. Student/Finalist Scholarships – scholarship monies for each category are being raised with private and public contributions. Providing the finalists meet the Nominating and Judging Criteria, one (1) scholarship per scholarship category may be awarded. The scholarship in each category may be awarded in an amount of not less than $1,000, providing the candidate meets the Nominating Guidelines and Criteria as well as Judging Criteria. Scholarship funds can only be used for enrollment fees. The Arts Council of Johnson County reserves the right to: Withhold scholarships in a category that has three or fewer candidates. Withhold scholarships in any category based upon the Judge’s decision that the submitted candidates did not meet the Judging Criteria. Maintain that judge’s decisions are final. Scholarship monies awarded will be held in escrow until respective student award winners provide written verification of enrollment in accredited colleges, universities or certified arts schools. Funds will be paid directly to the schools.
